Cognizant GenC is the graduate hiring brand in India. You may see GenC, GenC Elevate, and GenC Next - they are skill tracks, not three different companies. The online test typically includes aptitude, English, and a technical or coding layer. Names and platforms change by year; follow the current Supercharge / Cognizant careers post.
Tracks in plain language
Cognizant groups graduate offers under GenC. Higher tracks (Elevate / Next, when offered) expect more programming comfort. The OA is still the first filter for most applicants.

What is the difference between GenC and GenC Next?
Next / Elevate-style tracks are usually more technical (stronger coding or specialised skills). GenC is the broader graduate intake. Eligibility and pay bands are on the official post, not on rumour sheets.
Is coding mandatory?
For technical GenC tracks, yes - at least MCQ plus a short problem. Confirm in the drive notification.
